Bilal Kakpori was Made Target of Prolonged Detentions, Torture: Speakers say in MDM Conference
Muslim Deeni Mahaz (MDM) Friday 
organised a conference in memory of late Bilal Kakpori. Bilal died a few
 days ago after he was released from detention from Pulwama Police 
station.
The conference titled “Services of Bilal
 to Resistance and Our Responsibilities” was held in home town of Bilal 
at Kakpora Pulwama.
Members of different religious and 
political parties besides a large number of people participated in the 
programme, a MDM statement said this evening.
Highlighting the services of Bilal, the 
statement quoting speakers said, “he always remained steadfast against 
the occupational forces. Therefore, he was made a target of prolonged 
detentions and torture. The sustained torture has affected his speech to
 a great extent. But this didn’t stop him from being a forceful advocate
 of the Kashmir resistance movement and because of his pious character 
he was a silent missionary for the resistance movement. He always proved
 to be brave and steadfast in face of the tests he was put to by the 
occupational regime and forces.”
Speakers emphasised, “we should carry forward the mission of the martyrs.”
The programme was telephonically 
addressed by Hurriyat patriarch Syed Ali Geelani and representatives 
from Muslim League, Democratic freedom party, Freedom league, 
Tehreek-e-Hurriyat, Kashmir Freedom Front attended the function.
The programme was presided over by MDM general secretary Muhammad Maqbool Bhat, the statement added.
