Third Front in Offing in the off-stream camp

SRINAGAR: In a significant development that could shake the political skeletons of Pro-freedom politics in the state of Jammu & Kashmir, Kashmir Media Watch through its reliable sources has learnt that most probably a Third Front’ of pro-freedom camp is quite high on agenda in the off-stream political heads and is likely going to be actualised soon reports Kashmir Media Watch.

Pertinently, these developments come at a time when one of the main factions of Hurriyat (Hurriyat M) is witnessing tremendous internal strife after the controversial statement of Professor Abdul Gani Bhat with reference to United Nations Resolution and its contemporary relevance and applicability to the Kashmir imbroglio.

Kashmir Media Watch has also received inputs that prominent pro-freedom leaders like Azam Inquilabi, Shabir Ahmad Shah, Engineer Hilal Ahmad War, Nayeem Ahmad Khan, Javid Ahmad Mir, Hakeem Rashid, Mohammad Yousuf Naqash et al are going to be the prominent faces of the said ‘Third Front’.

It is to be reminded here that for quiet sometime now, there have been quite hectic political to float a pro-freedom Third Front in Jammu and Kashmir which as per the analysts is a consequence of the inertias of the two Hurriyat Factions and their failures to yield any positive results. The Third Front is hence expected to act as a more dynamic platform than the other two factions of Hurriyat.

The political analysts also suggest that finally for the first time in the pro-freedom history of Kashmir the ‘Third Front‘seems to be taking a concrete shape.

Kashmiri Journalist filed a Case against Government for the denial of Passport.

Johan Simith
Srinagar, Oct 6: Jammu and Kashmir High Court (HC) has issued notices to State Government, Police and Secretary, Union Home Affairs and Regional Passport Officer (RPO) on a petition filed by Ajaz Ahmad War, a journalist by profession, seeking direction to respondents to issue passport to him.

A single bench of the High Court, comprising Justice Hussnain Masoodi today directed the respondents to file objections with two weeks against the petition.

Mr War, in the petition filed by his lawyer M. Aijaz today, alleged that he has applied for an International passport on February 27, 2008 and deposited Rs 1000.

He said after the issuance of the passport was delayed abnormally he made a representation to the Chief Minister who directed the Additional Director General of police, CID, for immediate action as per existing policy and also to intimate the action taken in the matter.

The petition alleged that nothing happened in the matter as a consequence thereof he approached different authorities and also asked for a report under RTI Act.

The petition said that the CID department in its reply to Chief Minister on January 9, this year alleged that Mr Aijaz was brother of Hilal Ahmad War, Chairman of the Peoples Political Party (PPP) and Jameel Ahmad War, a pro-freedom leader .CID department has written in its reply that Jameel Ahmad War is the close associate of Syed Ali Shah Gilani and Syed Salahuddin which is one of the reasons of the denial of passport to Ajaz Ahmad War.

The department declared him a threat to security and warned that separatists may use his visit for anti national activities.

However, the department said that he himself was not involved in any anti national activities. Finally the Public Information Officer, Police headquarter communicated to the petitioner through a letter that as per the existing guidelines the issuance of passport to the petitioner is denied.

However, the petitioner approached the First Appellate Authority by virtue of a representation that in the light of the norms guidelines issued by the Chief Minister that if a relation of an applicant is involved in any anti-social or anti-national activity and the applicant is not directly involved cannot be denied the passport.
The appellate Authority acceded to the request of the applicant and communicated to IGP, CID, to consider my case for the issue of passport. However, the IGP CID declined to clear the name of the petitioner for issuance of the passport.

Mr War prayed for direction to concerned authorities for issuance of passport to him. The notices were accepted by Additional Solicitor General of  India on behalf of secretary union home affairs and RPO, Srinagar and Additional Advocate General for state government, IGP, CID and Senior Superintendent of Police headquarters. PPP urges the civil society, leaders to register a complete boycott against All Party Delegation.

Sanjay Kashmiri
Srinagar, September 19: People’s Political Party ( PPP) , Hilal Ahmad War , before Press Conference At  his  Maisuma residence ,on September 19,2010. Kashmir is in the middle of one of the worst crisis since 1947 – a crisis that is humongous both in terms of its impact and the far reaching fallouts that it carries along. This fresh round of uprising against the Indian occupation has already consumed more than a hundred lives in just 100 days and the worst part is that the victims are being projected as perpetrators by the Indian State.  Through sheer might of its military, police, media and other wherewithal, government of India is crushing our legitimate movement and also trying to portray us as troublemakers who can’t rest in peace. India wants to continue with its oppressive policy   by arming its forces with “unimaginable” powers to kill anybody, anywhere, at any point of time just to make sure that this Intifada passes off as a matter of misgovernance and misgivings between Kashmiris rather than an independence movement.

The post-Eid persecution that the Kashmiris are facing is something that isn’t spontaneous but it is a sinister plot that was hatched before the auspicious day after the Indian agencies started seeing the writing on the wall. A couple of incidents of arson where blown out of proportion and given prominence in the media to overshadow a mega show of people’s sentiment for the independence on Eid. An abrupt war hysteria was created through the news channels and a vicious propaganda was unleashed against the peaceful Kashmiris to discredit our genuine struggle and just cause.

Any political & economic packages or other sorts of appeasements or nefarious plans implemented through K. C. Pant, Dulat, Jethmalani, Wajahat Habibullah, Advocate Ashok Bhan etc by Govt. of India are destined to meet a disgraceful failure. By buying loyalties using traitors and pseudo-freedom fighters for elections or dialogue will get India nowhere and neither will it help in creating peace in Kashmir. It is highly advisable for Dr. Manmohan Singh & other Indian leaders to accept the hardest realities of Kashmir problem & concede the right of self-determination to the people of J & K State, so that the South Asia gets guarded against the otherwise inevitable horrors of nuclear war.

In view of the aforesaid position and ground realities our party PPP has rightly and thoughtfully advocated a 3-point formula since 10th August , 1996 which if acted upon, shall save J & K State from armed turmoil & also ensure peace & prosperity in the subcontinent of India & Pakistan. People of J & K State shall never allow any person, political party or conglomerate to act as their political attorney in connection with the settlement of Kashmir dispute. The Kashmir problem is the question of life & death for the people of J & K State who alone can directly settle this problem through fair & impartial referendum. The role of India & Pakistan is the role of co-operation only but the role of adjudication is the prerogative & inherent right of the people of both sides of control line. Let Indian leaders learn a lesson from Algerian liberation war against France, American war of Independence from Britain, Indian war of Independence commanded by Subhash Chander Bose, Irish war of Independence from Britain etc. and bow before the aspirations of J & K people by conceding their right of self-determination before it is too late.

A slew of lies, fabrications and cooked stories has now been topped by a typical Chanakya policy of deceit and cunning formation of the All Party Delegation to visit Kashmir. May I ask the UPA Chairperson and the Prime Minister of India what purpose this delegation will serve in calming the tempers and bringing about peace except it being a time biding tactic and an attempt to co-opt a handful of people secretly by the use of money and other sops. We warn the Indian government that it should face the ground realities and understand no peace is possible unless the burning Kashmir issue is resolved. Kashmiris won’t settle for anything less than Azadi and the sooner India realizes it, the better it would be for all the parties involved i.e. India, Pakistan and the principal party Kashmir. We didn’t sacrifice a hundred thousand youth in the last twenty years, and many thousands before that, to go for a sell out or accept a solution within the Indian constitution that the Kashmiris have never accepted.

Can the All Party Delegation walk on the streets of Srinagar and talk to the youths? No. Can it reach out to the people? No. Because it knows if it does, the reality will dawn before the world once more. Kashmiris who have been taking to streets by tens of thousands continuously for more than three months now have an unshakable resolve to fight India within the jurisprudence of United Nations Charter for the legitimate right of Self-determination and get freedom.

It’s such a shame that these people are coming here to rub salt into our wounds by unleashing their forces on us on one hand and trying to sweet talk us into their trap on the other. This show of hypocrisy and subterfuge must end and it should occur to India that the only resolution to the crisis is giving Kashmiris their right to self-determination.

This visit of the delegation is nothing but another drama in the political theatre of Kashmir directed and produced by the Indian Home Department. No pro-freedom leader is going to meet them and they are seen as unwelcome guests by the Kashmiris. I request all the Kashmiris and our pro-freedom friends too to completely stay away from this deceitful exercise and not fall in the Indian snare. Let India come out with a concrete, honest and genuine initiative to resolve the issue, every Kashmiri would welcome it. We’ve nothing against India except that she has subjugated us and is unwilling to set us free. But India must know freedom is a birth right and nobody, however mighty, can snatch it. India is a Foreign Occupying Power in J & K: Hilal War

By: Johan Simth
War HILAL
Srinagar: Sep,14: Jammu and Kashmir People’s Political Party (PPP) Chairman, Hilal Ahmad War lashed out Indian Prime Minister, Dr. Manmohan Singh. He said that Indian Prime Minister, Dr. Manmohan Singh’s independence speech amply reflects Indian ideology and thinking and has exposed the Indian tyrannical face and its colonial policy whereby he said that Jammu and Kashmir is an integral part of India.  Mr. Manmohan Singh should ask a 6 year old child of Kashmir that why he is writing on his slate ‘Go India Go’, it is not the violence but a strong sentiment which has its roots in 63 years long history ever since the Indian troops entered Kashmir illegally. Mr.Abdul Ahad Jan, a Sub Inspector of J & K Police who  hurled his official shoes on Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah and chanted Azadi slogans is an eye opener for Indian Prime Minister that their own cops realized that India is a oppressor and an occupying foreign power in Kashmir.   We strongly condemn his statement. PPP reiterate that India is a foreign illegal occupying power in Jammu & Kashmir, said Mr. War. The Statement clearly indicates that Prime Minister of India has lost his vision and wisdom whereby he has forgotten pledges on Indian Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru in Indian Parliament and in United Nation, Security Council. He has also forgotten that it is the India’s illegal occupation and its pledges at UNO which has made India a de-facto party to Kashmir Dispute.

War said the situation demands that India and Pakistan should come forward with fresh mind and approach with a single agenda to resolve Kashmir dispute which is the bone of contention between two nuclear powers. Unresolved Kashmir is the biggest hurdle for the peace, progress and development of this South-Asian Region. He once again reiterated that war is no solution to any problem and the initiation of composite dialogue between India and Pakistan is must to break the ice.

PPP chairman stated that a lingering Kashmir dispute will strengthen armed and unarmed freedom fighters in Kashmir. It will also invite an onslaught of Muslim groups in India. Muslim groups may spill over from Srinagar to the rest of India. Therefore, Indian decision-makers need to earnestly resolve all disputes with Pakistan, including the core issue of Kashmir, because no sane Indian decision- maker could, any longer, keep the future of over a billion Indians' social and economic well-being hostage to the Kashmir conflict. India needs to break free from its narrow foreign policy on Kashmir now. For that to happen, India needs to move beyond its stance that Kashmir is an ``integral part''. The Prime Minister of India, Dr.Manmohan Singh, needs to enact his role of a bold visionary and consider a solution to Kashmir outside the rubric of Indian federalism. Because unresolved Kashmir issue is causing constant potential threat to Nuclear War hovering over the whole subcontinent and can engulf the whole world at any point of time.

God forbid, if war breaks it will engulf whole world and undoubtedly India will be a Big looser. India is well aware of the Pakistan’s missile programme which is more powerful than India. Therefore, if war breaks out between two nuclear powers the Metropolitan cities of India will be wiped out. This war will prove a waterloo for India. Therefore, let’s hope good sense prevails upon Govt. of India and its warmongers so that they understand the dynamics and consequences of this unfortunate war, and will explore other peaceful options to settle all outstanding issues with Pakistan including the core issue of Jammu and Kashmir.

Mr. War said, the one and half billion people of this region have every legitimate right to intervene as they are the real stakeholders of peace and to discourage warmongers of India and impress upon Govt. of India to give diplomacy a full chance to find out ways and means to settle Kashmir Dispute and combat the enemies of peace by exposing them. In order to prevent the South-Asian Region from erupting to the prejudice and detriment of the global peace the long-standing Kashmir dispute urgently need to be solved amicably within the framework of fundamental Human Rights and justice to the concerned struggling people.

Let’s make it clear that in case India does not soften its Kashmir Policy and continues to demonstrate obduracy on one pretext or other, then the situation in J & K State shall uncontrollably flair up and disturb the peace and security in the length and breadth of Indian soil.(Writer-South Asia)

Indian troops martyr 14 more innocent youth

Srinagar, September 07:  The Indian authorities in have imposed strict curfew and other restrictions in Srinagar and other cities and towns following the killing of 14 innocent civilians in police firing at Palhalan in Pattan and other parts of Kashmir, yesterday. The four civilians including two teenagers were martyred and over a dozen others injured when the personnel of Indian police opened indiscriminate firing on protesters at Butt Mohalla in Palhalan.

Veteran Kashmiri writer and freedom fighter, Hilal Ahmad War, who has been placed under house arrest in Srinagar by the occupation authorities, in a statement strongly denounced the civilian killings in Palhalan. He said that India could not suppress Kashmiris’ liberation struggle through such tactics. The veteran leader called for a complete shutdown, tomorrow, to protest against the killings and appealed the people to observe the day as Prisoners’ Day.

The APHC Chairman, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, Agha Syed Hassan Al-Moosvi, Professor Nazir Ahmed Shawl, Farida Bahenji and other pro-movement leaders and organisations in their separate statements termed the killing of four civilians in Pattan as the worst form of Indian state terrorism.

On the other hand, Indian troops, during their fresh siege and search operation, martyred 14 more innocent Kashmiri youth in Nowshera area of Gurez. Earlier, two troopers were killed in an attack in the same area. (Writer-South Asia)

PPP Chief Arrested from PPP Headquarter Rajbag today by State Police

Srinagar, March 12, 2010: The Flying Squad of J&K Police raided the PPP Headquarters, Rajbagh today and arrested the party Chairman Hilal Ahmed War. War’s arrest is seen as a preventive measure by the State police against a possible post-namaz rally that the Hurriyat (G) had announced. Chairman PPP, while endorsing Hurriyat (G) Chairman Syed Ali Shah Geelani’s call had urged the people to take to the streets and register a peaceful protest in the form of a rally. “People should come out in large numbers in response to Geelani Sahab’s call and protest peacefully,” said War.

The PPP Chief has been lodged in Police Station Rajbagh. A party spokesperson condemned his arrest in strong words saying it amounted to State oppression and a denial of right to expression. “This highhandedness of the State shows the times we are living in. If one is not even allowed to demonstrate peacefully, it leaves a big void for violent demonstrations,” said the PPP Spokesman. Geelani and War had urged youths to make sure no stone-pelting incident occurred.(Writer-South Asia)

General Deepak Kapoor ambitious to author World War III : War

Srinagar, 28 Jan. : People’s Political Party ( PPP) , Chairman, Hilal Ahmad War welcomes the initiatives of two leading media groups of India and Pakistan –Times of India Group and Jang Group and their campaign under the banner of “Aman Ki Aasha “ ( Hope For Peace) to bring peace in this region . War said that the unresolved Kashmir Dispute is the stumbling block in the way of sustainable peace and stability in this region. Terming the resolution of Kashmir issue as key to peace in the region, and said that campaign of Aman Ki Aasha is bound to meet failure if the core issue of Kashmir is ignored. “ If the architects and authors of this peace campaign are sincere in their effort for peace and tranquillity they must declare that Kashmir is dispute and the real bone of contention between India and Pakistan , secondly they should appeal conscious political leaders, highly acclaimed impartial journalists, writers and peace lovers of India and also those who urge for peace in this region , to come forward and unmask the hawks and warmongers of India like Lt. General Deepak Kapoor, Indian Chief of Army Staff and diplomat –cum-debater , Mr. G.Parthasarthy  and declare them enemies of peace,” said War. For this purpose, Times Now, news channel launched by Times of India Group should be utilized as a medium for peace not hatred. If they cannot do that then they must shut their shop of PEACE.

Mr. War stated that recently Indian Chief of Army Staff, Lt. General, Deepak Kapoor stated that Indian troops are ready in case of war that too simultaneously on both fronts with Pakistan and China and end it successfully within 96 hours. General Kapoor also admitted the possibility of a marginal conventional conflict cannot be ruled out. And he further stated that any conventional war between two countries can at any time turn into a nuclear war. Major General Deepak Kapoor’s irresponsible statement gives a clear message that there is some invisible hand behind his statement and the message is an indicator of possible war. Some observers and analysts say that this invisible hand is United States of America and its satellite country Israel. For this purpose they want create an excuse and mastermind another Mumbai attack so that it will pave the way for attacking Pakistan and China simultaneously. The United States of America wants to play same role in China as was played by India in 1971 in detaching East-Pakistan. Therefore, it is presumed that General Deepak Kapoor is ambitious to author the World War III.

God forbid, if war breaks it will engulf whole world and undoubtedly India will be a Big looser. India is well aware of the Pakistan’s missile programme which is more powerful than India and Pakistan has about 95 atomic bombs while as India has just 60-70. And in case of war both good and bad Taliban will certainly join Pakistan Army. Therefore, if war breaks out between two nuclear powers the Metropolitan cities of India like, Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore, Chennai and Kolkata will be wiped out within no time. In case China joins Pakistan, the Sino-Pak nexus will put India into surprise. This war will prove to be a waterloo for India. Therefore, let’s hope good sense prevails upon Govt. of India and its warmongers so that they understand the dynamics and consequences of this unfortunate war, and will explore other peaceful options to settle all outstanding issues including the core issue of Kashmir Nation.

The one and half billion people of this region have every legitimate right to intervene as they are the real stakeholders of peace and to discourage warmongers like Lt. General Deepak Kapoor and G.Parthasarthy etc. and impress upon Govt. of India to give diplomacy a full chance to find out ways and means to settle Kashmir Dispute and combat the enemies of peace by exposing them.

In order to prevent the South-Asian Region from erupting to the prejudice and detriment of the global peace the long-standing Kashmir dispute urgently need to be solved amicably within the framework of fundamental Human Rights and justice to the concerned struggling people.  In this connection the PPP’s Roadmap containing 3 Point Formula advocated by our party since August 10, 1996 is the only tunnel to reach the goal and destination of peace and human-brother -hood which shall in turn ipso-facto close the doors and chances of Atomic War.(Writer-South Asia)

Complete Shutdown on January 26: War

Srinagar, January 18: An extra-ordinary meeting of think tanks of People’s Political Party was convened at PPP headquarters, Rajbag, Srinagar under the Chairmanship of Engineer Hilal Ahmad War. It was resolved by a vote of consensus that PPP will support the Hartal call given by APHC (G) on January 26, 2010. Mr.War appealed the people of Kashmir to observe a complete shutdown on January 26 in order to remind the Indian leadership and the world community  that the presence of Indian Occupational Forces in Jammu and Kashmir Nation is illegal, illegitimate and unconstitutional in the constitutional eye of Jammu and Kashmir 1939, Constitutional eye of International Law and is clear violation of United Nations Charter as well as U.N. Plebiscite Resolutions passed by U.N.O. Therefore, by no law all over the world or morals can justify their presence in Jammu and Kashmir Nation be justified.

India must not forget the issue of Jammu and Kashmir Nation has assumed the shape of a International Coinflict ,therefore, the intervention of superpower nations like United States of American and China is unavoidable and in accordance with golden principles of United Nations Charter in order to maintain International Peace and Security . These powerful Nations including European Union knew that the gateway to World Peace is the resolution of Kashmir Tangle.

He further said that Kashmir dispute cannot be resolved by any cosmetic treatment on the pattern of Osolo Accord, it can be resolved through direct intervention of common masses by means of a referendum. He reiterates PPP’s stand that the role of India and Pakistan is the role of co-operation only. The role of final adjudication about the political future of J&K State vests in the people of Jammu and Kashmir only.  India and Pakistan have no right or power to do or decide anything behind the back of people of J&K State for resolving Kashmir dispute. For achieving this goal the only feasible, viable, practicable, equitable and honourable way is to adopt the PPP’s Roadmap advocated by “People’s Political Party (PPP) since August 10th 1996 commonly known as HILAL FORMULA. He said, “There are political parties in the entire J&K State with conflicting ideologies and stands regarding Kashmir Issue. Therefore, no person, party or conglomerate of diverse ideologies can be recognized as political attorney of the common man of Jammu and Kashmir  as a whole”. (Writer-South Asia)

PPP Chief asked employees Unions to launch a Civil Disobedience Movement

Srinagar: People’s Political Party ( PPP) Chairman, Engineer Hilal Ahmad War attending the prayers meeting ( Fathah Khawani) of teenager , Inayat Amin Khan of Dalgate who was killed at the hands of CRPF troopers last Friday when he has on his way to buy a laptop. Whiling paying rich tributes, Mr.War demanded that an independent Enquiry Commission should be set-up to probe the death and punish the perpetrators under International Humanitarian law.

War said that Independent Enquiry Commission should be constituted by some retired High Court Judge assisted by Kashmir Bar Association. He lashed out at so-called leaders of pro-freedom fraternity by not taking serious measures in Inayat’s Case and accused the leadership who got miserably failed in pleading the Kashmir case domestically and internationally. PPP Chief, lambasted the employees federation and their Unions for shedding crocodile tears for the martyrs of Kashmir and freedom of Kashmir. Mr.War, said these people are fighting for 6th pay Commission and other perks not for the freedom of Kashmir. He said these employees leaders have made Indian grip stronger in Kashmir by demanding perks. He said, if these employees leaders are sincere they must launch a Civil Disobedience Movement and fight for the Right of Self-determination of Kashmir not for 6th Pay Commissions and other incentives. He reiterated that if the killers cops are left unpunished, Kashmiris will be forced to go for a all-out war against India like Algerian people fought against France. PPP welcomes P.M’s Offer for unconditional talks with Pakistan and Kashmiris. PPP's Roadmap is the only solution to Kashmir Problem: Er. Hilal War

By: Ed. Sheikh Gulzaar

Srinagar, October, 29:
Kashmir history reveals that no political party ever since the partition of India has been able to put forth a viable, practicable roadmap for the resolution of the Kashmir tangle. Hilal War, a young, energetic, enthusiastic and visionary leader and a fiery orator, presented his Roadmap on August 10, 1996 for the resolution of Kashmir tangle. Known for his vision and farsightedness coupled with political insight, disclosed his formula before a healthy media conference 13 years back. To him the credit goes, of presenting first ever roadmap for resolution of Kashmir conflict, which is slowly and steadily being adopted by India and Pakistan these days. The visible example of this is, starting the “Goodwill Bus Service”, between both sides of Control Line. He is the architect and author of the concept of ‘Srinagar-Muzaffarabad Bus Service’. India and Pakistan have also started Truck Service between both sides of Line of Control (LoC). The first two points of aforesaid Road Map have been recognized and acted upon, by India and Pakistan, pertaining to the Human and Economic aspect of Kashmir problem.

Er. Hilal War’s Roadmap got an international recognition and the first major acknowledgement came from none other than the British Prime Minister, Tony Blair who sent an official letter to Hilal War approving the formula and congratulating him in August 2001. The said Roadmap containing Hilal Formula was referred by the British Government to the External Affairs Ministry for ‘necessary examination’. Hilal War who is the Chairman of political outfit Peoples Political Party (PPP) got another shot in the arm when International Crisis Group (ICG) also acknowledged and virtually endorsed the Hilal War’s Road Map in 2002 when it impressed upon India and Pakistan to open the control line for people of J & K State for trade and traffic. This, as a matter of the fact, the endorsement of the first two points of the Road Map.

Another approval was from SAARC Summit in Pakistan in 2004 when India and Pakistan decided to soften the control line for the people of J & K for trade and traffic. Former Indian Defence Minister, Pranab Mukerjee said earlier in year 2004 that he would adopt a 3-pronged approach to resolve the Kashmir Problem. The 3- Point program that he put forth put a stamp on the approval of ‘Hilal Formula’, which was released by a young Kashmiri leader and human rights activist, Hilal Ahmad War some 13 years back. This move by Defence Minister was treated by many as a virtual approval and recognition of Hilal formula. ‘The announcement of the Defence Minister is the victory of the oppressed people of Jammu and Kashmir. It is the victory of self-determination right. It is the victory of peace and justice. It is the victory of the South-Asia’ said a jubilant Hilal War after the Defence Ministry discloses formula to the media.

Hilal War’s Road Map amply reflects his ideology and thinking which is the restoration of peace, international brotherhood and a conducive atmosphere for coexistence and a resolution for all the unresolved issues so that all the obstacles in the way to progress and prosperity are removed.” Recalling the statement of Dr.. Farooq Abdullah, On May 03,2009 , where he has asked pro-freedom leaders to prepare a roadmap for resolution of Kashmir Issue, assuring that his party would help take it up with New- Delhi and Omar Abdullah , Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir , State has yesterday declared that Centre will talk to all those political parties who have roadmap. We welcome the Prime Minister, Dr.Manmohan Singh’s offer for unconditional dialogue with Pakistan and Kashmiris. He further said PPP is not averse to talks but the talks should be meaningful and result oriented. To make talks on the resolution of Kashmir Dispute a success there should be no pre-condition from both sides. Dialogue between Kashmir, India and Pakistan to create mutual trust and understanding is indispensably paramount and this is an important step towards the resolution of Kashmir dispute. Resolving Kashmir requires tough diplomacy of important countries of the globe like USA. UK. United Sates of America has already begun the diplomatic efforts to address the Kashmir Issue in order make South-Asia terror free and a peace constituency. Last year, in an excusive interview to London’s Guardian, British Foreign Secretary, David Miliband, categorically said that Resolution of Kashmir Dispute is very vital for the peace and security of South Asia. This statement gave a significance to Kashmir Dispute and impressed upon the peace lovers of South Asia to rise to the occasion and press India and Pakistan to start a dialogue to resolve Kashmir tangle if they really want to be at peace . Bruce Riedel, Obama’s election campaign advisor, in his recently published book, urged Washington to resolve the Kashmir Dispute and only then can the influence of Al- Qaida decline. The first step towards the Kashmir resolution will have to be the withdrawal of all military and paramilitary forces from the Jammu and Kashmir. Bruce said India should withdraw forces from J & K and Pakistan should withdraw its troops from its administered Kashmir. The withdrawal of the forces from both parts will have to be simultaneous. General David Petraeus who heads US Central Command has confirmed that the United States has begun the diplomatic efforts to address the Kashmir Issue so that Pakistan can focus more effective on fighting Al-Qaeda and Taliban militants. Before taking control of the White House, President Obama, had argued that Kashmir is the root cause of the terrorism in the region and he had pledged to address Kashmir Issue with India and Pakistan. General said together with my great diplomatic wing man Ambassador Richard Holbrook, this effort actually has started. The task-force formed by US- based Asia Society has called on the Obama administration to find the lasting settlement to Kashmir Dispute and encourage behind the scene efforts to deescalate tensions between India and Pakistan over the issue. The independent task force set up last year included Richard Holbrooke, the Special US Representative for Pakistan and Afghanistan, and General James Jones, National Security Advisor. Mr. War said, “in the contemporary world, the political issues should be resolved through dialogue. We want process should be inclusive now onwards. The UJC and other resistance groups should also be involved. The consensus is being evolved in the international community that resolution of Kashmir is very imperative for the world peace.
