Azaadi Sankalp Divas

Sheikh Abdul Aziz
Jalandhar, August 11: To commemorate organization's 36th foundation day, the Dal Khalsa, a Sikh

political party, is holding a Conference on August 13 at Jalandhar on the subject of Azaadi-the only way.

Party head H S Dhami in a statement said Muslims got Pakistan on August 14th and Hindus got India on 15th while Sikhs missed the bus. He said since then, Sikhs have been striving for their own Homeland.

Reiterating their commitment to the cause of Sikh independence, the organization has decided to observe August 13 as “Azaadi Sankalp Divas'.

He said all promises made to Sikhs by Indian leadership before and after 15th August 1947 has not been honoured. Since transfer of power in 1947, Indian leadership has cheated and deceived the Sikhs.

In a separate statement, the Sikh Nationalist party paid tributes to Sheikh Abdul Aziz on his 6th martyrdom day and fully supported the right to self-determination for Kashmiri people.

Party president eulogized  APHC leader Sheikh Aziz and others for attaining martyrdom for the Kashmir cause.  “The determination and steadfastness of Kashmiris would never allow the sacrifices of martyrs go vain,” he added.

Dal Khalsa leader said Sheikh Aziz was a friend of Sikhs and supporter of Sikh cause for freedom. He was member of the Coordination Committee formed by ethnic and religious minorities striving for their respective right to self determination in Delhi on March 23, 2008.

“Aspirations of Kashmiris should be respected and they should be given free and fair opportunity to express their desire through the universally accepted right to self-determination,” the statement added.
