China vows to protect its firms after India, others ban DeepSeek

After several countries, including India, clamped restrictions on officials accessing the newly-released Chinese AI tool DeepSeek, China on Thursday said such actions amounted to politicisation of trade and tech issues and vowed to protect the interests of its firms.

China has all along opposed moves to overstretch the concept of national security or politicise trade and tech issues, Chinese foreign ministry spokesperson Guo Jiakun told a media briefing in Beijing while replying to a question on several countries either banning the use of DeepSeek or restricting its use by officials over suspicions of data leaks.

"We have never asked and will never ask any company or individual to collect or store data against laws," Guo said, referring to apprehensions concerning China's 2017 national intelligence law which gave the Chinese government powers over private companies."

China has all along opposed moves to overstretch the concept of national security or politicise trade and tech issues.

"We will firmly protect the lawful rights and interests of Chinese companies," Guo said.

India's finance ministry has directed its officers not to download or use AI tools and apps such as ChatGPT and DeepSeek in office computers and devices, saying they pose confidentiality risks to data and documents.

In a communication last month to all its departments, the ministry said AI tools and AI apps in office devices may be strictly avoided.

It has been determined that AI tools and AI apps (such as ChatGPT, DeepSeek etc) in the office computers and devices pose risks for confidentiality of government data and documents, the Department of Expenditure under the ministry said in a note on January 29.

South Korea has blocked its government departments from accessing DeepSeek.

According to media reports, Italy, Australia, the US and Japan also blocked access to DeepSeek.

DeepSeek's latest AI offering has drawn global attention for its low-cost model -- at just $6 million against global average of billions of dollars.

Pakistan will take Hamas’ help for terrorist attacks in Kashmir: VHP

New Delhi, Feb 6: Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) spokesperson Vinod Bansal on Thursday claimed that Pakistan will now take the help of Hamas for terrorist attacks in Jammu and Kashmir (J&K).

The VHP leader shared on social media platform ‘X’ that on Wednesday, Hamas commander Khaled al-Qaddoumi and other Pakistani terrorists were spotted during a rally in Pakistan-Occupied-Kashmir (PoK).

He further claimed that Pakistan’s Intelligence agency ISI is playing an important role in this “terrorist alliance”.

Slamming the Hamas sympathisers and “radical Muslims” in India, who have been raking up the Gaza issue, raising ‘Palestine Zindabad’ slogans in Parliament and shedding tears for global terrorists, he questioned their silence on the issue.

“Will they not utter a single word over this issue?” he said, adding “Shouldn’t they protest against terrorism as they did in support of Gaza.”

He said: “Now all these anti-India elements have been exposed once again.”

Bansal’s remark came after Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM), Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) commanders, and senior Hamas representatives, took part in Pakistan’s propaganda exercise recently.

The rally indicates Pakistan’s involvement with terrorist organisations to fuel unrest in the region.

Notably, Union Home Minister Amit Shah recently shared that after the abrogation of Article 370, terror incidents in J&K have reduced by 70 per cent.

Omar Abdullah Did A U-Turn on Art 370, Engineer Rashid Says

SRINAGAR: In the wake of the Assembly election results, the Awami Ittihaad Party (AIP) held a day-long meeting to analyse the outcome and strategise for future endeavors. AIP leaders identified limited campaigning time and outreach as key factors impacting their electoral performance.
The party expressed deep gratitude to the voters and supporters who trusted its ideology. They acknowledged that despite the challenges, including delays in Er Rashid’s bail and attempts to discredit them, the political landscape had shifted, pitting a coalition of NC, PDP, PC, Apni Party, Congress, and BJP against Er. Sheikh Rashid and the AIP.
“This clearly shows the growing influence and prominence of Er Rashid and the AIP,” remarked AIP leaders.
The AIP reaffirmed its commitment to representing the people in the Assembly and Parliament, advocating for the restoration of Kashmiris’ political rights. The party pledged to address all their concerns and transform aspirations into reality, overcoming any obstacles.
AIP Chief Spokesperson Inam Un Nabi strongly criticised Omar Abdullah’s recent statement suggesting a “goodbye” to the fight for Article 370. “Such a stance was not unexpected,” stated Nabi, “given the historical betrayals of the JKNC from Sheikh Abdullah to Omar Abdullah.”

    Benefits of ginkgo biloba

They have a circulation-improving and vasodilating effect and can be used to alleviate symptoms of depression, certain forms of dementia, headaches, tinnitus or arterial occlusive disease. Ginkgo and ginseng are found together in many drugs to improve memory – it is only ginkgo leaf that is used in this case.

The reason most cities plant this tree is because of its resistance to pollutants, fungicides, insects (along with most insecticides), disease, bacteria, droughts, and smog. Not only can it resist pollution, but because it goes through photosynthesis it can convert carbon dioxide into oxygen.
