Appeal for Donation: Relief Work in Pakistan in the aftermath of the 2010 Floods It is indeed one of the most tragic times in the history of Pakistan. The 2010 floods in Pakistan are reported to be South Asia’s worst in over 80 years. According to Prime Minister of Pakistan, Yusuf Raza Gilani, 20 million people have been affected by these floods -- a much higher estimate than given by United Nations. It is estimated that thus far, more than 2,000 people have died and more are expected to, especially the children, due to outbreak of different diseases, shortage of food, accommodation and medicines. Floods in Pakistan have destroyedalmost everything for them: millions of people have lost their properties and lives in the aftermaths. South Asia Centre for Peace (SACP) is a non-government and notfor- profit organization based in Pakistan. In our efforts for peace in South Asia, human security is one of the prime areas of work therefore our relief efforts have gained prominence.
